John Foster Bey was hired on August 4, 2008, as CSR’s Vice President of Research, Evaluation and Program Management. He managed CSR’s research and evaluation activities and has served as project manager for contracts with the Bureau of Justice Administration, the National Cancer Institute, and the C.S. Mott Foundation. Mr. Foster-Bey served for 5 years as the Senior Advisor to the Director of Research and Policy Development for the Corporation for National Services (CNS) where he led several research projects on volunteering and community service. Before his tenure at the Corporation, Mr. Foster-Bey served as director of the Project on Regional Economic Opportunity at the Urban Institute. Before coming to the Urban Institute, Mr. Foster-Bey spent over a decade as a program executive at the Ford Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Northwest Area Foundation. He also enjoys a history of working with state and local government and community-based youth development organizations.
